The University of Edinborough’s studies show that business travel is its second largest source of carbon emissions, and, if current trends continue, will be the largest source by 2040. Investigations into how to reduce travel emissions, including from flights, led to the creation of a 55-member collaborative network, the Roundtable of Sustainable Academic Travel.

The international Roundtable seeks:

• To share ideas between institutions on travel emission reductions.
• To develop online workshops and discussion groups.
• To welcome any institution of higher education interested in reducing emissions through travel policy and practice.
