We must minimize flying, no doubt about it. In order to do so, I combine my international conference trips with holiday, so I have the time to travel by train and also discover new, exiting places on the way. Unfortunately, the employer does not approve supporting travelling by train if it is more expensive than flying, but I hope the university will come up with a new travel policy in 2020!
