I’m Mexican and have been living in Europe for 11 years. I typically fly back home once every year/two years. For the last ~four years I have been experiencing severe anxiety, caused by the humanitarian dimension of the ecological catastrophe. I have stopped flying, and I’m moving back to Mexico this summer for good — among other reasons, to remove the necessity of flying to see my family.
I study the social lives of animals. I’ve worked with lizards, birds, ants, fish, and beetles, answering questions about variation in parental care, evolutionary conflicts, and life history trade offs (when, how many times, with whom to reproduce).
