I really wish virtual conference attendance would become more popular. I am still often forced to fly as part of my work and I feel really bad about it. We developed so many wonderful means of communication, let’s use those.

Of course, it would be nice to meet in person with people, but the cost of destroying our environment is too big. I think unfortunately many people are not aware what a huge impact on the environment flying has. It’s important to tell and show everyone, and hope for some general global changes.

I am a PhD student in Physics. My research combines elements of quantum optics, plasmonics and material science. I currently study optical properties of graphene.
