I am trying to fly less because my research primarily focuses on the disproportionate impacts faced in developing countries and communities with high levels of poverty that have contributed very little to climate change. Generally, for personal travel I have been able to take the bus or train to avoid a flight, but for travel to conferences and for work it has been a greater challenge. University reimbursements often will not cover train or bus travel, especially abroad.
