As an ethnoecologist, my science focuses on the connections between biological and cultural diversity, or “biocultural diversity.” Climate change is the #1 threat to biocultural diversity.

I cannot live my life without mitigating that threat with every choice I make: what I buy, eat, and wear, how I travel, and what (if anything) I waste. I stopped getting on airplanes over a decade ago because of the enormous carbon footprint.
