Changing jobs from a hi-tech small company to academia slashed my travel by two-thirds. Being from a small country in Central Europe, with rail infrastructure leaving much to be desired, traveling by train is challenging. Time spent in airports and on planes is lost time (even if I manage to work).
I am working on measurement methods for aerosol absorption (black and brown carbon, dust mainly). Black carbon is the second climate warming agent (after CO2), but its lifetime in the atmosphere is very short.
