I’m a Frenchman working in the US. I have found a way to fly less (I setup a maximum limit of two trips to France a year) :
– I decide very early when I’ll be in France, and then I gather as many meetings as possible during this trip. Last November I stayed 28 days in France; I was free only one day and visited five different cities.
– I use a lot Visio, even if I have to wake up very early (as this morning to attend to a meeting at 3:30am for me). It’s exhausting, but less than traveling with time difference. When you are used to a Visio conference, it works really very well.

I mainly study on the effect of work organization on working conditions.
