As a retired airline employee I can fly at a much reduced rate, however I do not use that ‘benefit’ often for the reasons mentioned on this website.
Airlines globally have pushed back, successfully, against paying a reasonable fuel tax on international flights. This is foolish and not in their long term interest, but like many companies the $$ is #1. If they considered the correct and pending climate change costs they would pay this tax.
