As a recently tenured faculty member, I am beginning to realize that I have greater ability to reduce my air travel without worrying about the adverse affect on my career.

I want to contribute to a movement to normalize minimal air travel in the academic world, and in doing so to set an example for society at large. If we work to make it less a mark of distinction, we can slowly change larger patterns of travel.
