Haven’t flown in two years. Recently I was selected to be my university’s next Posse mentor, a great cause I’m honored to be a part of. But there’s a *lot* of flying, not just for me, but for the staff and the students.

I am met with sighs, if not outright blank stares, when I express concern about it. I was able to do one trip by train, but ran afoul of budget constraints. I’ve learned to explain my decisions not as an attempt to reduce “my” footprint, but “ours”. A culture of denial.
