I’m an MD at the Ohio State University. I get some strange looks from colleagues when I tell them I took a train or (heaven forbid) a bus to a conference, but it does drive home the point that flying emits a huge carbon load, and that we’re all responsible for our carbon impact.
I can’t say I never fly, but I do try to look for alternate ways to reach a destination and take extra time off if needed, even when that means lost income.
