Since my area of research interest is outside the UK, I took it for granted that international travel would be part of my job. However, I think the pandemic has brought into focus ways of working and networking that can be achieved without air travel – for instance, the rise of virtual conferences.
Interdisciplinary researcher interested in volcanic hazards and human response. My research has focussed on tracing patterns in eruptive activity through remote sensing methods and exploring factors that influence different stakeholders’ decision to take action during eruptive crises. My research experience is primarily in Central America.
